The Robbery: the Cyborg Journals Part Three

It was Joeys’ second heist. He felt like an old pro. The first, just three days ago, had gone off without a hitch. Pull the gun, demand the cash, stuff it in your oversized coat pocket and walk out. Briskly. But don’t run. Turn a corner, turn another corner, maybe another. Lose the hat. Lose the glasses. Lose the coat - keep the cash. Put it in a bag and just keep walking like you’ve been shopping.
It was Damien Hussein’s’ fourth robbery. Fourth time to be robbed that is. That was why he had had the security system installed. He was ready for number five.
Joey waited until the old lady left. She was just looking anyway. She could not have afforded any of this jewelry. That left just one other customer. He would have preferred to have been alone with the clerk but this would be no problem. She was young and obviously rich and seemed intent on inspecting everything. He positioned himself so that the girl was between himself and Damien. He eased closer, pulled out his gun, demanded the cash - which was handed over readily - stuffed it into his coat pocket and headed for the exit. At that moment Damien grabbed the girl by the wrist and pulled her behind the counter and through a steel door into his office, pushing a button as he went, locking all the doors and setting off the alarm. Joey turned to see them go through the doorway, thought nothing of it really. It took him five more steps to reach the exit and ten seconds to realize he was locked in. He started back toward the steel door, oblivious of the four cameras recording his progress. It was locked. Of course. How clever. He was trapped. Just then he heard a noise, turned and saw two men coming through the front doors. Evidently they were locked just on the inside “Wait!” he shouted but it was too late. The door eased shut. And now, ironically, one of the men was pulling a shotgun from under his coat. That’s when the cyborg came in and killed them all.
