Christmas Eve 2009

It has arrived. Christmas eve 2009. It's just about over now. Sure enough I spent the day in the pursuit of last minute - items. I stood in those lines. However I did not go to the mall ---Oh WAIT!! I DID!! I FORGOT!!! DAMN I did. I really did.
Okay here's how it went. Got up around 8 and just stayed around the house. Washed some clothes, cleaned up the kitchen a bit. My daughter (have I mentioned?) works at Old Navy which is at the mall. I drove her to work around 12:30 and then took my youngest son, he's 16, to Academy - a sports and outdoor kind of store. Did some last minute stuff, mostly for him, then we came back home. Had lunch and then my wife and I went the grocery store.
I just realized as I'm writing this the time is 12:38 am. Christmas eve is over. It's Christmas day, now.
I'm tired so here's the quickie version.
When we went back to pick up the daughter it was around 5pm. Most stores were closing soon. Most shoppers were ready to go home. Daughter wanted to do some last minute shopping. I happened upon a parking spot that was fairly close.
Instead of waiting in the van we walked into the store - detouring slightly through the mall. And that was it. Honest.
